SOLD OUT - Reaper U: Painted Ladies

Classroom #1 Denton Ballroom (1st Floor)

Thursday August 30, 2018 - 3:00 pm to 4:45 pm

Are your femmes less fatale than you might like? Do your vixens lack va-va-voom? The curves of the female form and the more subtle features of feminine faces can be challenging to paint, but this class is here to help! We’ll start by reviewing the major differences in painting female vs. male characters, and also consider a variety of skin colour options, and how adding atypical colour(s) can enhance the appearance of the flesh. An important topic will be how to place shadows and highlights based on your light source, and tips for placement on those tricky round areas. Since the face is the most important feature of all, we’ll also look at how to paint details like lips, blush, and eye makeup. Class materials include a detailed handout with reference photos so you don’t have to take notes and can maximize your painting time in class. Please bring a good quality brush with a fine point. If possible, you may want to bring a battery operated light and/or magnifying visor so you can see and paint facial details more easily. NOTE: This class is intended for adults and includes depictions and discussions of nudity. This is an intermediate to advanced class intended for painters who are already familiar with at least one technique used to paint smooth blends. (Ex: Layering, two brush blending, etc.)
